Okay so my trunk mount rack effectively effed up my bumper and cracked it in two spots. ive been checking out racks on thule and stuff, i guess i need to buy 4 of those foots for 130 a piece? im not even considering spending 950 bucks on a rack thats just rediculous. Any of you guys know how much i should expect to spend on one? and what i need or what you guys use? i mean id rather just get the tall audi bars for 245 at audi.com and buy the 100 dollar bike rack i mean a grand for a rack is rediculous. anyways, sorry if i sound steamed, the two hefty cracks in my bumper got me worked up this morning. ohh and pics would be splendid

okay thats what i wanted to know, because on the thule site it gives me an option to choose up to 4, and it doesnt say whether its 4 feet or not, unlike other things they list that say comes with 4 or whatever..

I take it I can use these as long as I buy the base carrier bars? I obviously have to get those "ring" type things that the Powdehounds sit on too.

I've had Thule for years... initially on a sedan and now (much more easily) on my avant. Definitely worthwhile, but you shouldn't have to buy them new unless you want. Find the part # and search on ebay, and post on here. I got my avant feet from Rich_W I think it was on here a while back, still using 'em...

Very happy with my Yakima. This is the second car this rack has been attached to. Very good investment. More pics in my pic poster.

are really OEM Monte Blanc bike racks. I bought a pair for $70 on ebay new. The Audi OEM cross bars are basically Thule Aero bars. So anything that Thule makes for Aero bars will fit on OEM Audi bars. I like the Audi bars more because they are the aero bars so there is no need for a fairing to cut down on wind noise. The square bars are the worst noise makers followed by the circle bars. They just howl in the wind. Getting aerodynamic bars from Thule or Yakima is worth it.
I also ended up going with Thule snowboard racks as well. Everything is pretty easy to put on and take off. If you end up buying used Audi OEM bars, make sure you either put masking tape down underneath the feet or getting some 3M clear guard material as the rubber feet will get dirty underneath and take off your paint.
