Default Yes, I have a funny story.

I have the same problem stereo cuts out (left side) randomly. I took it to the dealer and since it didn't cut out in the 12 seconds they listened to it they wouldn't do anything despite the known problem. They rolled their eyes when I said I researched it on the internet. US Audi owners sit and think of fake problems all day, right?

Default That's right, we enjoy the inconvenience of giving up our cars for...

a day or more, driving either nothing or a Neon instead, just to give them some profitable work on an imaginary problem.

BTW, my driver door speakers cut out every now and then also. Adjusting the volume up a few notches turns them back on.

Default It must be a HU issue for sure. How do I know?

Well I replaced my HU with an aftermarket one and I replaced the speakers in the door with an aftermarket one and I never experience the cutout. I'm using the stock wiring harness.

So it can't be that the wiring harness is faulty. Note that I never had the cutout before either so my car just be a luck of the draw where the wiring harness was actually good while yours is actually bad. But my suspicion is the HU, given that VAG OEM HUs are generally POS (the double DIN in the current Passat and Jetta gives totally muddy sound and I had to replace my wife's even though she is not an audiophile)

Default You get a loaner? <m>

I got to take my car in for three things:

1. Stereo problem

2. Window switch-I got the new drivers panel with the different ICONS and I, form the day they switched them, told them I'm not happy with a brand new car and non-matching points. After a few months of complaining they told me they would change them. When I got there....they told me NO! After telling me on the phone that it would be taken care of.

3. I had my tires balanced at my 10K service and noticed that they vibrated way more than when I took it in. I told them I wasn't happy with the balance that I could feel the vibrations (I've been driving long enough to now when a tire isn't balanced). They took it around the block and told me they wer fine. I told them they weren't and in fact they scratched 3 of the rims when they did it. Again nothing was done. I wasted 4 hours of my day to be sent home angry.

I currently have a ongoing case filed with AoA about the dealer and Audi in general. A 350Z is starting to be way more tempting.
