04 A4 Wagon... water in BACK of car
Hello all
I just bought a used A4 quattro wagon, 2004. When it rains more than just a little bit, I get damp headliner in back passenger corner of car... water is dripping slowly onto the cargo area cover in the corner of the car. I did a bit of googling and wonder if it is the sunroof tubes that are not draining, but would water make it all the way back to the rear of the car in the headliner?
Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this without taking apart the whole car?
THANKS

Before anything clean the sunroof drain, you can use a long wire or go from under the car,
there's also two in the front by the door hinges.
when water accumulates in the roof area and you accelerate it goes back and overflows on top of the sunroof frame.
take care of it soon or your headliner will get destroy.

The storms in my area of PA have been wicked the past month - I have seen the right rear get soaked 3 times now. I tested the sunroof drains/tubes with a watering can. I feel that the front ones are clear and flow perfectly. The driver's side rear drain also works just fine. The passenger side rear drain will allow some water to exit from the wheelwell and drip onto the ground, but the headliner still gets soaked along the grabrail area and in the whole right rear corner above the back window. Does this mean that the tube is cracked or partially detached from the sunroof drain?
Just today the radio started acting up and then it turned to static in all speakers.. turns out the bose system in the right rear of the car is wet now too! I hope that the stereo comes back once it dries out.... I am so busy lately I think I might just pay a shop to sort out the drain line.... how hard is it to take down the headliner and attach a new tube?

radio
try to dry the amplifier as soon as possible and hopefully still ok.
at this point if you remove the headliner it will get deformed and need replacement.
eventually it will become unglue either way and will have to be replaced.
