Default 05 Ultrasport Bose Symphony Radio Problem. Appears to be a thermal issue.

Every summer since I bought my Audi I've had this problem. When my car sits in the sun at work the radio volume fluctuates from zero to whatever the current volume setting is. This only happens during the warm California summers and the problem occurs no matter what I'm playing whether it's the XM, FM, AM radio or CD. Of course everytime I take her in to the dealer they can't replicate the problem. After 20 minutes with the air conditioner on the problem goes away. Grrrrr.

Any one have any tips to get the dealer to take care of this. It's so bad it even irritates my wife the non-audiofile.

HELP!!!

I have the same problem w/my 05. It just started happening a month ago. Dealer talked of replacing the amplifier. That was a couple weeks ago. We'll see.

Default I also have the same problem, going to address it with the dealer in the next few weeks.

Hopefully my advisor has heard of it and possibly a fix. But from what I've searched, most have just lived with it as it usually only happens in warm/hot weather and lasts a few minutes.

I have had the same problem with mine (2005 3.0 Ultrasport). I am due for my 20,000 mile service in about a month. I am going to talk to the dealer about it then.

Default its the auto sound sensing

theres a TSB and ur dealership should know exactly how to fix it - they essentially deactivate it.

Is there a fix to this feature or their solution is just to simply disable the feature we bought?

i believe its called audio pilot and how it works is there is a microphone in cabin to measure noise and based on that noise it will compensate your stereos volume. It is a hardware issue. Its a TSB, they should be done for free even if you are out of warranty.

just disable a feature u bought. Personally i like to be able to control volume on my own. Too much technology is never good.
