Default Is 0W-40 oil bad to use during the summer time?

The only Audi approved oil I can find at local stores is Mobil 1 and only its 0W-40 weight oil is VW 502 00 certified.

Default Scratch that: I found 5W-40 at AutoZone

by Castrol Syntec.

Apparently this Castrol Syntec is Made-in-the USA and says it meets VW 502-00. Years ago, that was not the case and the only Castrol Syntec that met VW 502-00 was the hard-to-find version Made-in-Germany.

Default its great for summer time. 40W high synthetic shear temp

This is good stuff man. I mean if you are doing road-race thats one thing revving the crap out of it on 90-100F days but otherwise a good cooling system and that oil will cover your bases.

for every 5K miles

I'm going with 5W-40 Delvac... ordered it from my local Esso (Mobil) lubrication shop.

Default It's good in a 1.8t which is ok w/ oils that are thin or shear. In a V6, much betterer to get a real

5w-40 or 10w-40 or 15w-40. Remember, the M1 0w-40 is just a thickened version of the 0w-30 and it WILL shear to a 30 weight, onlt to rethicken from oxydization. I'd save it for winter and get a nice 5w-40 like Mobil 1 TDT or Shell Rotella Synth. VW spec means only that it's a 40 weight and it won't sludge. There are plenty of synth oils that meet those criteria but were not submitted to the test sequence. Like Mobil 1 5w-40....get it.

$2.50 Dino 15w-40 (Delvac/Delo/Rotella) is just as good up to 6000-8000 mi interval.
