4-banger? i dont know why so many people get a 1.8 when they want power, if you do to a 3.0 whatever you would do to a 1.8, the 3.0 will always be better because you start off better

and or bigger and better powertrain changes, get the 1.8T, because the choice of upgrades is probably an order of magnitude more. Granted, if you don't like turbo-based power and the complexities that come with it, the 3.0 is better.
The 1.8 also has better weight distribution over the axles, and so from a dynamics standpoint, it offers a bit better balance.
As for 350hp for the I-4, I don't recall seeing it yet even with a big turbo like the GT28s. If you really want that much, I'd look for a B5 S4 and add a K04 upgrade.

Some of these simple things that aren't available on the 1.8t. The 3.0 is definately for me, but if your in to modding your ride (ain't my bag anymore) then go with the 1.8t. If cost is an issue too, the 1.8t can be had for a lot less than 3.0.
