I know there are turbo upgrades for the 1.8 but it is still a 4cylinder. The way I am seeing is (corrrect me if I am wrong) you upgrade the stock 1.8 turbos and put monsters in them. 400hp lets say (of coarse it is not that simple) then, get a 3.0 and turbo it if it is possible and get 400hp aswell. The v6 would be ideal? Better for the engine?

400 ponies out of an a4 is too much power and youll probably spend more money on it than getting an S4 with some goodies.
If youre looking to spend money on engine mods, go with the 1.8T. In a way, it is much more of a sporting engine. You can get it easily up to the horsepower of the 3.0 with good reliability, and without the increase in weight. That being said, the 3.0 already comes with 220hp which is decent power for most. With an exhaust and a short shifter, the car would be more fun than stock, and you wouldnt have to worry about losing warranty.
