Never had that problem in the last 39,000 miles

hopefully someone else will have something insightful to explain why it may be doing that.

I have had it at the dealer several times for this exact problem. They say it is do to carbon build up. They clean it and it is fine for about 7-8 thousand miles. It was so bad at one point the car would buck and stall going from rev to frwd

Where in the transmission does the Carbon buildup occur?

I had that same problem. Dealer cleaned it and no problem since.

Manual says that just because of the pollution limitations.
