You can lock the trunk so that even if the doors are unlocked, neither button nor handle will work.
Then your only can use the RC button to open the trunk. I also lock my rear seats, so that if anyone breaks into my car, they can't get into my trunk.

Did you try unlocking all doors via the unlock button on the driver's door? (more)
That should unlock the trunk as well, so someone can open the trunk by pushing the button on the lid.

The emergency fuel door release is a red loop hidden under the bolt cover for the taillight(m)
on the same side as it.
In other words, see the little round carpet cut out inside the trunk opening? Well, pop that open with a key or screwdriver, and you will find a little red loop under it (on the side that has the fuel door). Pull the red loop and it will manually unlock the door.
