Default 1.8T car start up - when you start your car does it idle at 1200+rpm then idle down to 800 rpm after

a couple minutes? Also, does the car rattle (maybe EGR valve) for the first little bit?

Thanks,

Default RWhy do you turn on your car and let it idle for a couple of minutes?

Not particuarly good for it. Bad for oil and emmissions.

yes on the idle. and it does sound like the millenium falcon. i think that's the turbo winding down.

It's the A/C compressor. It doesn't do the f-18 jet thing in ECON or OFF mode.

Default lol, it's not the turbo, it's the HVAC hardware. If the turbo kept spinning for that long after oil

stopped circulating, you'd be in trouble.

thanks for clearing that up. for some reason i thought it was the turbo spooling down.
