Thanks, I'll try that tonight. 10 Minutes seems excessive though...
What happens if you just shut it down quick? I can't wait 10 minutes every time I shut the car off...

Two solutions to that. One, buy a turbo timer. Two, in the last few miles before you arrive at...
Your destination slow down and drive at a normal pace. This will help your turbo cool down. You may then just wait a minute or so before turning off your motor.
BTW, this is true of chipped cars. The turbo works a lot harder. On a stock car, it may not be as drastic.

you misunderstand
i let the car warm up a bit (oil and water temp)...before i start driving the car hard...then, when i'm going to shut the car off, i let the car idle a bit and the turbo cool down before i shut the car off....
