1.8T : Let the turbo cool a little before shutdown? How long?

and that's on the track. So althought he oil temps appear to be nice and low, all of our cars have little heat spike areas in the turbo and heads that an oil cooler probably wouldnt do too much for. Using a quality synthetic and using aggressive OCIs along with the larger filter should be a good bet for most. cheers! mike

...ideal. You could go with a larger oil filter (like Audi is now) and maybe even the larger coolant flow cooler used on the S4.

You'll find that the turbo cools much better if you drive off boost for a few miles before you park. 1 to 2 minutes idling at the max, but the best bet is to just drive off boost before you pull in for a stop.

Just don't race somebody and then park it, well thats my opinion as you can see everybody has their own.
