Default 1.8T oil pump. Gear driven or electric?

I asked this question on the TT forum since I'm asking for my spouse's car, a TT. I'm asking here too since I know you people have a wealth of knowledge too.

Does anyone know if the TT's oil pump is electric or gear driven? And if it is electric, where is it at?

TIA

Default The 1.8 does not have an after run pump. Only the 2.7t engine.

the fluid movement you see is heat convection movement. Much like the old percolator pots.

Default True, the 1.8 uses thermodynamics to pull water through the system.

Most other VAG engines use the pump.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/bbs/archive/9809x1/messages/689.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/bbs/archive/9809x1/messages/689.shtml</a</li></ul>
