Default 1.8T Oil Type

What's the best type of oil to keep in the trunk to top up my 1.8T?

Thanks!

Default Topping-off a newer Audi, Factory-Fill is German Syntec 0w-30. Dealers use Belgian Syntec 5w-40.

Default Been meaning to ask you something...

I was at the autozone the other day and remembered to look for that syntec and all i could find was the US stuff BUT I have a question. I saw some stuff that said 5w-50 on it and it came with a large tamper proof top on the quart containers. What is it? You have any info on it. It looked new and didnt make mention of any VW specs at all but in mentioned B3, B4. I just figured they havent gotten it certified yet. Is that stuff any good? Thanks. Cheers! Mike

Default New ACEA "C" Specs coming out.B-Series is older Diesel specs.Syntec 5w-50 is my mechanic's bulk oil.

That tamper-proof top is interesting, never saw it before. AFAIK, Syntec 5w-50 is the best 50 weight oil available. In a turbo, I would not even use Mobil 1 15w-50, but Syntec 5w-50 would be a great choice. My mechanic's car is an UrS6 with 24lbs boost. He has that full competition licence too, so he has a lot of experience on-track. So, maybe a new formula. I don't see it being GF-4 and I know it was A3, so I'd say hit it if you are interested.

http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=005119</a

Always call ahead, but wal-mart and autozone are usually good.
