Default 1.8T overheating!?

I was driving my car today, just as I always, do and then noticed my water temperture going higher and higher to the point where it was touching the H (On normal driving it only touches the half point). The coolant was full but i did notice one thing. The water was not circulating in the pipes it was supposed to (I could feel that they had no pressure). Could this be my water pump, or something else?

Thanks for any replies

(car has stage 2 APR turbo and carbonio intake)

I wouldn't jump to the pump especially if it has been replaced recently. It could also be as easy as one of the temp sensors. There is one in the coolant flange on the back of the block ("green" top sensor) as well as one near the bottom of the radiator. I would start with those as they provide the temp to the ECU that provides the signal to open the thermostat. If your thermostat never opens, the water around the block never gets to the radiator thus no circulation and the car will simply overheat.

It could also be the radiator fan on turning on. I had this problem before; in my case, the module that controls the radiator fan was faulty. Check to see if your fan turns on when your car gets hot. If the fan doesn't turn on, then its most likey the module. You can also check your fan to see if it turns on bypassing the module. I think there is a write-up here about changing that module.

If the car returns to a normal temp when standing still odds are that the pump is dead or should I say the plastic impeller as snapped. If it does not return to normal temp when standing then the problem is else where could also be the thermostat.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
