Default 16825 - EVAP Emission Control Sys

Hi Guys,
I read on alldata.com that the TBS (technical service bulletin) for the A4 2003 is a reoccurring EVAP issue. I read my OBD and it stated I had an Incorrect Flow P0441 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded. I brought my car to the dealer where they ran a diagnostic check (everything OK) and flushed out the error code. After another week it reappeared, coincidentally I have been receiving these error messages after my first maintenance. Please provide me with any info if you are experiencing the same issue. I have an A4 CVT 2003 fully equipped.

Regards,

Arthur

Default I had a similar problem that was fixed a couple of weeks ago

the evap purge solenoid was malfunctioning and refusing to open and close on cue.

it was fixed and a new part was ordered 'just in case' but the problem has not returned.

I wonder if it is cold-weather related?

Default Have the exact same thing!

Got that code a few weeks ago and cleared it with a VAG tool. It came back today on my way to work.

I'm calling today to make an appointment at my dealer. We'll see if he knows about the TSB.

Interesting to note that my first occurence was 2 weeks after my 1 year/10,000 mile maintenance...

This is for a 2003 1.8TQ manual.

Default I've been wondering about the cold weather idea too

First time I had this happen, it was below 0F. This morning, it was down to 5F on my way to work.

Well, I'm from Montreal and we're having record cold weather, -25C. Did the dealer detect it was the purge solenoid that was malfunctioning and replaced it?

Default the dealer told me that that was the problem

they fixed it as opposed to replacing it.

I was told that if the problem persists then it will be replaced but it has been 2 weeks without further incident.

Hi Guys,

I just spoke with my dealer, he told me they contacted other Audi dealers, BMW, and Infiniti and he stated that they are all having similar issues. He told me it could be the purge solenoid that was malfunctioning or even a gas tank leak. It seems to happen in cold weather and the sensors are set to low and the computer detects emission controls that are higher than the environmental standards. He told me to wait until the message light disappears and to recall him if it reoccurs. He stated that these messages are worrying customers for no reason. Sometimes it hard to trust your dealer 100%, so let me know if you guys hear any different.

Thanks,

Arthur

Default Same: '02 1.8T (chipped)

Same sporadic problem; I purge the error myself with my palm pilot, but it is very sporadic; typically for me, it's a cold weather thing. Good luck! JCB
