I will look for new wheels soon but I'm not sure what size I need to go with. I live in Chicago so It's not that easy to decide on 19's especially the biggest wheels I had on my previous car (BMW) was 18". What do you think about 19s...PROs and CONs
Does it require a lot of hassle? any warranty issues? Thanx.

I'm not sure 19's fit on a stock A4. Besides having to clear the the top of the wheel well when the suspension is fully compressed, you've got to be concerned with the front tires rubbing on the inner wheel well (or worse, the suspension components) at full turn-in/turn-out. 18's are available from the dealer as an option, so you'd have no worries going w/18's.

overall tire diameter doesn't really change wether you go 18s or 19s. As long as the 19" wheel is not too wide and the offset is not too agressive you shouldn't have any issues with rubbing.
19" cons:
- the increased possibility of bending them on rough roads (but if you're careful this should not be an issue).
- 19s are going to be heavier unless you go with a more expensive forged wheel. More rotational mass means poorer acceleration.
19" pros:
- better steering response due to less tire sidewall
- looks, baby, looks.

Everyone who I know personally who's gone to 18s, has always had buyer's remorse and ended up going to 19s or wish they had. Its not all that much more, but the look IMO is so much better.
The rears can clear 19x10s, but the fronts I think can only go 19x8.5s (obviously you wouldn't want to do this if you had Quattro.)
I haven't seen anybody have any conclusive answers if 19x9s will rub in the front.

imho...it comes dow to cost and cost only.
the look between 18" and 19" is minimal (imho).
it only translates to 1/2" on each side of the rim bigger...
ive seen a ton of 18" rims as well as 19" and each looks just as well.
the ride on 235/35/19 tires on the a4 is superb. very smooth on stock sport suspension...very smooth.
now dont dilute yerself...235/20/18 vs. 235/35/19 as far as tread protection wise, is little insurance...once you go around 40 series tires, yer pretty much rolling the dice as far as potholes and crap...
so if yer very worried about fuxing up a rim...dont think cuz u go 18" vs. 19" you have any more protection.
if you have the extra cabbage...just go with the 19" rims.
-they fit fine (235/35/19)
-they ride very smoothly
-they offer no more significant protection vs 18"
-that 1" less (although hardly noticeable) will d
drive u nuts
just my $.02

For performance reasons, but then the 17 lbs vs 20 lbs between the 18's and 19's for the reasons I was looking at was not all that big of a difference compared to the overall weight of the car and the better look.
Needless to say, I'm going 19" volk le37 shortly. You can also reduce the weight of the tire/rim combo by choosing a lighter tire.
Toyo's T1s Proxes I think are 22.5lbs per tire, Pirelli P Zero Nero's 24lbs, and then BF Goodrich gforce TA KDW2's are 28lbs.
