Default 2 Questions from a Newbie

Good morning all. I have two questions if you please.

1. Does an 04/05 A4 require premium fuel? If so, what octane?

2. Where can I find a list of items covered vs. items not covered on a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle?

I am more interested in the not covered list, I would like to have my mechanic inspect these items b/f my purchase.

Thank you for your time.

Yes, premium fuel is required. 91 octane or above. Not sure about CPO.

Default Wear and tear isn't covered under CPO

Therefore dealers will generally try to blame everything on ear and tear

Default Wear items like brake pads/rotors, clutch lining, aren't covered.

Ask the dealer for a copy of the CPO policy, it seems to change every six months.

You can technically run 87 octane in the car, but you'll get worse gas mileage, enough so that it will cost you more money to run 87 than 91.

Default Get the premium...

Two years ago, I got a used A4. I went to put gas in it for the first time, and said aloud "I wonder if I really need the premium?"

So my wife says to me, "you just spent 24K for the car you wanted and your gonna skimp on the gas it needs to save a few bucks???" Made perfect sense to me

Especially if you have the 1.8T, you'll want the best performance possible.
