anyone hear anything good/bad about this engine? I was going to buy a 1.8t but it doesn't come with leather so I figure I'll get a 3.0

Also, does anyone know if the 2003 a4 1.8t will come with leather?

In my opinion, the 3.0 is a heavy engine. I currently have the 1.8t cvt, however prior to this, I had an a4 2.8. It was a great engine, but I didn't want the v6 again, mainly because of the weight. you could get the 1.8t, chip it, and have the same torque and virtually the same power at $k's less. However, the options with the 3.0 are very nice and that's the only reason that I'd get it.

I believe that, due to use of Alum, the 3.0 is only slightly heavier than the 1.8

A dealer in Detroit told me the 2003 A4 would be available with leather, but you could also consider something else - http://www.katzkin.com
They can do some really nice custom stuff for less than the difference between a 3.0 and a 1.8.
