I just bought a 2003 1.8t with a black interior and the dash trim is a black laquer (different from the '02 metal-type trim). But they didn't install corresponding trim for the ashtray or gear shift area. Does anyone know:
1) Where to get matching black laquer trim for the ashtray and gear shift area to match? I can't find it on the web. OR
2) Can you purchase the OEM wood trim (not the overlays all over the web)for the 3.0 to replace the 1.8T trim? Any idea of costs?
Thnx

I have not found anything either. I would settle for just finding Walnut wood trim pieces for the shift surround and ash tray. On the web I have only found kits for the entire interior and not individual pieces. Do you know of a source for indivitual wood trim pieces?

When I check out the 02 A4's I liked the brush aluminum trim. I don't like the black fiberglass though. I rented a A4 2.0 in Germany last october. It had the fiberglass trim. I thought it had it because it was a lower end model. I want to buy the aluminum or carbon fiber that is coming on the S4. Contact Hillsideimports @ 877 581-8204. They have a dealer source in Germany.

http://hillsideimports.com</a

I have not even purchased the car, and i don't like the black fiberglass trim. I too want the brushed aluminum trim to go with my ebony interior. I found these photos...

You can pick it up for about $472 for all seven pieces. As soon I get the money I will order it.

http://vagparts.com</a

Just a follow-up, called a dealership in the Bay Area and they're looking to get $900+ for the 8 pieces (4 doors, 2 dash and 2 console) in brushed aluminum. Pretty pricey.

Just a quick follow-up. I recently purchased an entire OEM Aluminum Trim Set from West Broad Audi (Richmond, VA 804-270-9000) (via mail-order) for $435 (delivered). Ask for John Everett.
This is the fish-scale aluminum trim (found in 2002 1.8T) vs. the brushed aluminum. Apparently there is a large price difference between the two (~$200+). I was about to purchase the S-line brushed aluminum trim from Vag parts but that would have still cost close to $600 as well (after accounting for currency exchange rates).
Hope this helps.
