I currently have a 2003 a4 1.8t Quattro 5 speed manual transmission. I got rear ended and insurance is claiming it totaled. I’ve put a lot of money and part into this car. I was wondering if I bought a 2004 a4 1.8t Quattro 6 speed manual transmission if I could swap over my coil over, intercooler, gauges, radio, and basically the entire engine. Didn’t know if the difference in year and transmission would cause a problem for swapping the engines/coil overs.my catless down pipe and custom exhaust is too rusted and rotted to switch over I rather have a cat with regular exhaust that’s not gonna fall apart on me till I can afford to do the catless downpipe with custom exhaust layer down the road. I’m new to all this so some feed back would be nice. I’m willing to answer any and all questions.

Do you mean buying just the transmission, which is what you seem to say, or the whole car, as you then imply? I suspect that the answer is Yes, you can swap all that stuff.

I mean I have the 2003 5speed the whole car with mods. I was wondering if I bought a 2004 a4 6speed if I could swap my engine and mods over from the 2003 to the 2004 or will the 6 speed transmission cause me any issues with the engine swap
