2003 A4 1.8T - Car Will Not Start When It is Cold
Hello- My A4 will not start when it is below 35 degrees. I receive a message on the panel that states "Press Clutch to Start Car". The car has 18k miles and Audi cannot determine what is wrong with the car. This is the second winter that I have the car, and the second winter I've had this problem. I had the clutch switch replaced last week, but that did not solve the problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end with this one. Thank you in advance.
ps- There is nothing blocking the clutch from being fully depressed to the floor.

I would guess it's not a mechincal problem then. We need the board to create a list
of functions the car requires before starting. ie: clutch depressed, clutch switch engaged, immobilizer functional...maybe with that list, the dealership could check into some of the possible problems.

I don't think its the battery...
all of the 'diagnostics' come up fine...plus it just had its check up at the dealer on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
That all said...it could be the battery....I just don't know anymore.
