i would love to find something that could run on spare gel-cell or something overnight, then battery get's re-charged while driving.

110 VAC. There is also the auxiliary heater that is optional in Europe....
and heats the engine coolent and interior space using gasoline fuel and battery power, uses a remote control to turn on/off.
