Hi,
I use my beloved A4 for daily commutes, occasional track time and sales travel. I drive ~ 3500 miles/month and have had no problems yet. (Now at 40,000 miles). I use top quality oil every 5,000 miles and pump only 94 OCtane gas. Teh car is GIAC chipped also. My biggest fear is getting stranded one day due to one of these failures members here are always discussing. I am often driving to cutomers out of Country in the middle of nowhere.
It seems as though my 2 biggest culprits might be coilpacks and fuel pump. Should I replace my fuelpump at 50,000 miles just in case? Should I have spare coilpacks in the trunk? Ideally I would keep the car until 150,000 miles. What are everyones thoughts/opinions.

It doesn't help that even the most trivial of parts are three times as expensive as their counterparts on mass-market vehicles.
I've actually considered trading my new car and re-buying it (as used) to qualify for Audi's CPO warranty program.
For my next Audi I will definitely consider a dealer demo with a few thousand miles on it because the warranty is so much better.

At almost 40,000 I have started to see some random electronic issues that tell me I need to dump before 100k extended warranty runs out. I had a short in the engine harness between the ECM and coilpacks that fried 2 coilpacks and ended with a cheesy "overlay" harness on top of the old one and black electrical tape to cover it up. It looks like sheet. My airbag light came on for one trip across town the other day. My reverse lights came on for one hour one day. My sunroof started randomly opening on it's own.
Not one problem until 37,000 and now all this within 1500 miles.
