ok guys this problem is doing my head in, for the last few weeks my left brake light does not LIGHT up at all or glow at night time with my driving lights on. i have tested 3 bulb holders from 3 of my mates B6s and plenty of bulbs & fuses and still the brake/light does not turn on .
what i find funny though is even tho my brake bulb doesn't function i don't get the left brake light out message on my dash, as soon as i remove my brake bulb and start the car the message will appear. i have no idea where to look anymore and i have also replaced my brake switch and im running out of ideas. please can someone shed any light on this ?

has to be wiring if you have eliminated bulb and socket. Those issues are not fun to find.

Check and make that there is a good ground.

The haynes/Chilton manual is out for our cars now. diagrams are pretty good.

just check the connector for rust (where you insert the bulb) i had the same problem, sometimes is occured that it worked just fine but the dash gave me a message that there is a malfunction, just remove the rust and it should be fine

thats where i found a repair manual for my model B6. had a problem with the damn blinker in the headlight. sometimes the blinker workd but i got a message on the dashboard that there is a malfunction which i could not understand since the blinker worked just fine, but then there were days when i had no messages on my dash but i noticed the blinker was not working.it got me hooked on the PC for a whole week before i discovered what the problem was.
