I hope not.
Cant believe Audi couldnt produce a timing belt (and associated parts) that would last 100k mi +.
I have an 2001 TT and I am very familiar with the early 2000s 1.8T timing belt problems.

Use to be 105k with '02-'04 B6s but AoA changed it to 75k from '04.5+
I've read a few here have gone 100k+ on the original TB and WP. Its usually the WP that fails and not the belt itself. Find a good independent shop that specializes in VW/Audi and have the job done there. Buy the parts online (~$260) and labor should be 4-6 hours, depending on the shop and mechanic. I paid a little over $500 for my TB job.

Came out 3 months after I picked up my '05! They did the SE models to move the B6s before the B7 came.
