Default 22k, new rotors and pads ... do I REALLY want to break them in ...

like this:

http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/warped_rotors_myth.htm

or is this for competition pads?

Right now I'm drivin' with an egg under the pedals. BTW, the soonest I EVER replaced rotors on my 525 was 75k!

Default I wouldn't...

You'll probably fry your pads using that procedure. I might be inclined to try a modified version of that procedure, using much lower speeds, but honestly, I've never bedded factory pads before. Instead, I just drive really easy for the first several hundred miles (in fact, that's what the little insert with Mintex pads tells you to do).

Stoptech does know what they are talking about though...and some of the stoptech owners have reported issues with their braking (warped rotor effect, or wet braking delays) UNTIL they properly bedded their pads. Suddenly all the issues were gone.
