Default Did it just rub at the fenders? Or inside as well?

I had a feeling that a 245 would cause problems most likely. Wheel width and offset will be more critical as well with that tire width. If there was a 235/30-20, that'd work, but the profile would be "rubber band" thick

Thanks for your insight.

Default Overall tire dia. shouldn't change much at all...

I hope. Really depends on the tire itself (brand) and the rest of the dimensions. The profile should be smaller. But again, depends on overall dimensions. The wheel gets bigger, not the tire, with overall dia., as long as the other tire dimensions make up for it in the profile. A 245/30-20 would probably be the closest to the correct overall dia. to work, but then offset and the 245 width could cause problems. Too many varibles and the only way to know is to fit them on the car and test.

Never had any rubbing issues with 19x8.5 ET31 w/ 235/35-19 and lowered on Coilovers.

Default I'd like to....

But it seems a bit much overall to accomodate them. It's more the issue with tires though on 20's. May just have to stick with whats worked from the beginning; 19x8.5.

What size tire did you say you were going with again? And you had to roll your fenders, right? Or did you just remove some liner? F & R? When I spoke with Sportec, I think they said that they just removed the fender liner screw and that was about it. They made the fitment of the 9x20's sound like it wasn't much of a problem at all on the A4.

Default i'll have to take pics of what we did...i basically folded the fender lip...

after heating up...cut a chunk of the liner at the very top most of the wheel arch. Mind you I ran 19x8.5 w/ 25ET w/ the RH's and never rubbed in the front rear is different story and is to be expected. So don't forsee running into problems in the front.

I'll be running Toyo's 235/35/20 as their rubber tend to be a bit on the narrow side so that should help w/ the rubbing.

Default Yeah, that 245 will also add width... and more concerns with rubbing.

But it'll give more tire profile then a 235/35-20, which is good. I agree though, that either a 235/35-20 or 245/30-20 would be best suited. The latter one being questionable due to width still.

I wish I had exact dimensions to compare the 235/35-19 with those two 20's. But they even change slightly between brands/makes.

Quick Reply: 235/35-20 or 245/35-20 on 20x8.5? Anyone with experience + lower then OEM Sport?
