Default Are 255/35/18s too big?!?!?!?!?

I have a question about wheel and tire sizes. I wanted to put a set of 18x8.5 wheels are my 2002 a4. Will a 255/35/18 tire fit without rubbing? Do you think the tire will stick out. The wheel has a 35mm offset.

Thank.
Doug

You'll be rubbing if you have an et35 or less offset and are lowered below 25.5"

What do you mean? Assuming that I haven't done anything to the suspension, like springs, or lowering it (not yet at least), would you suspect that I woule be okay?

Default On an 8.5" wheel you'll probably be running an aggressive offset...

maybe this would be ok on a stock suspension. On a lowered one you'd have to do some fender mods. I have rubbed ever so slightly with a 235/40/18 on a 24.75" suspension with et32 offset. cheers! Mike

When you say fender mods, what do you mean? I am kinda of new to this whole thing so I may sound a little ignorant? What types of mods are needed to get a good look out of it? Does this mean the exterior of the car or in the wheel well? Thanks so much for your response.

Thanks

Fender meaning, probably have to roll them to fit the tires in.
