Default 3.2 L?

Does anyone know if Audi is planning to put the new 3.2-litre V6 (currently slated for the TT and the A3) into the A4 anytime soon? Seem like a logical step up from the current 3.0 to me.

The 3.0 is a pretty new engine. Seems like a waste to do all that work only to use it for 2-3 years

I just don't understand: why two V6's and why put the more powerful one in the smaller cars?

Default I'm not sure, I was only offering my opinion of why not to replace the 3.0.

You'd be better suited to wait for a response from someone on the forum a little more knowledgable than me. Such as: anyone else.

Default The 3.2 is mainly for transverse applications, not longitudinal like the A4.

We'll see the 3.7 V8 with 270hp or so.

Where can I find info on the 3.7L V8? I'm trying to stop myself from spending the $$$ on an '04 S4!

Default The older version was available as an option in the '97 A8.

It remained an option in Europe. I've heard that it is getting revamped along with the A8, Allroad, and S4 4.2 V8. It is to be used in the next gen A6 to replace the 2.7t.

The 3.2 V6 in the TT is the VW narrow-angle (15 degree) V6 that goes by the "VR6" name in some VWs.
