I've heard that it's not wise to run your car until it is almost dry because....
it sucks all the dirt/grime/tank debris that has been floating on top of the gas tank...of course the fuel filter catches this, but still...
I haven't had my car a long time; I've filled it up 3 times, twice before the warning appeared and the third right afterwards (the third time was when I was too excited about my new car to notice the gas gauge nearing the red). Although, the warning gives you PLENTY of time.
Anyway, I'm never going to wait until the computer reads 0 miles to empty...
