6-Speed Fluid change...who has done it?

I've read a lot of threads on fellow B6ers doing fluid changes on the 5-speed and it seems pretty simple. Just need the special socket tool, a fluid pump and some fluid. It is more or less the same idea as the 5-speeds on the 6-speeds? Such as location of fill plug and drain plug?
From the reading, looks like Motul 300 gear oil is a clear winner?
Does the fluid have to be at a certain temperature when changing?
I'm at 51,xxx miles currently and might want to try to tackle this myself instead of asking the dealer to do it.
Thanks!

what the factory recommended is (I know they say lifetime but dealers will usually recommend a mileage). Going to ask Clair on Monday when I go in.
If I can get some more miles out of it, that'd be cool.

I'm at 54 K and no fluid changes that I'm aware of unless the dealer did one without my knowledge. If it's something that should be done, I'd also be interested.

to change it every 2 years...including changing the fluid in your differential will extend its life by removing dirt and moisture and by maintaining lubrication and minimizing high speed foaming - same for your manual transmission....Basically Preventative Maintenance. I personally don't think it's quite that necessary but I plan to start changing them myself and for what the cost is to do this vs fixing one of those problems makes sense to me.
