Default 7 hours later....

I managed to DIY/R-n-R my OEM clutch & flywheel for the 240mm Spec Stage 2+ flywheel and clutch.

Initial test drive was good, but I'm suppose to allow the clutch 400-500 miles of "break-in", so I cant really report on its overall performance, yet.

So far it feels just like the OEM clutch.

My digital camera crapped out on me, so I got no pickies. :O(

Overall pretty straight forward swap, except for my 6-speed gearboxs shift linkage, and the reverse light harness zip-tied to the top of the gearbox.

The lift & transmission jack made the job much easier. As the trans-jack had provisions to adjust the angle of the gearbox, which helped considerably with install.

I'm off to collect my 500 miles of clutch break-in! ;o)<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/1067068.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/1067068.phtml</a</li></ul>

Default Good job!

<center><img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q33/x1rider/clean11.jpg"></center><p>So you had access to a lift, nice. Would you say that it could be done with all four wheels on ramps like in this pic?

Default You could, but I would get bigger jack stands for the fornt and jack that car all the way up...

Looks like even you existing stands have a lot more room to go up.

Default The Quattro gearbox is heavy & long....

<center><img src="http://www.tvacusa.com/catalog/AcDelco%20Transmission%20Jack%20Adapter.JPG"></center><p>it would be a good idea to get a transmission jack adapter for your floor jack. They help out greatly. Especially if the have 2-axis adjustability.

Default The jacks themselves go pretty high too, I could just leave the jacks on...

and use the stands as safety measures.

Default No....

If your jack fails and car drops onto a jack stand I'm not sure it would stay there. I would just jack it up as high as your jack stands would go, well, not 100%, and then let the car rest on the stands. Once there, its not going anywhere. Try rocking it back and forth with your wheels still on and you'll be sure its safe.
