...which of course, is very subjective...it certainly doesn't handle in the same league as an A4 Quattro Sport. It has much too much roll, and seems to plow into corners. Not at all what you would expect from a RWD car. It seems much more like FWD to me.
Couldn't help but compare it to my BMW 323iT sport (RWD comparison), which makes the IS300 seem like a Buick.
Fit and finish are first rate, but the quality of the materials seems a little cheesy in some places. Chassis lacks rigidity--lots of body twist and shake. Nice transmission, nice sound system. Interior: busy, busy, busy...
Definitely a boy-racer car. Don't think many adults would be happy with it.

I loved driving it, but I can't quite put my finger on what's wrong with the handling. Just seemed to hop too much when coming hard out of corners.
Fit and finish is not to Audi levels, but who is? It's OK, but the leather feels cheap and the suede in the doors is so-so. Dash is plasticky.
I had a lot of fun driving this car, and I found it a hell of a lot faster and a bit more nimble than a 1.8T sport, closer to a 3.0 in power. It's a very tunable car, like the 1.8T - it's easy to make a stupidly fast IS300.
And, of course, it's RWD instead of AWD. No good in the winter up here in the frozen North.

I like the lights from the side.. From the back.. ehh. it's ok.. The 2002 lights were improved because they are smoked out. I think they look a lot better.. No flaming, but you put a washed/waxed IS300 and an A4 next to a group of people, and you'll get more reactions/looks at the IS300. It's just a fact.. Sorry guys, but I still love the A4
