Default A4 1.8T Quattro - mods

Please excuse me all if I could have found this in the FAQ's.

Hoping to hear from someone with a modded car, what you did and the results.

We get the same mech. package as you guys here (in Australia) 110kw / 210Nm.

I'm hoping to get closer to 160kw and 300Nm without changing the turbo - an impossible dream?

Has anyone rigged a waterspray on the IC up?

Default US gets 127kW / 224Nm now...

Have you looked at Giac's and APR's websites?

American HP chip claims may come out lower on Australian dynos.

Have you considered changing the chip tohether with exhaust upgrade?

I think that might get you close to 154 kw. Will cost you a few grands.

Default I think APR & GIAC's chips are for N. American cars only..may need a euro tuner like ABT instead

Had Wett Chip from QSZ Melbourne installed in 2002 A4 1.8T for AUD $1400 as well as Remus Exhaust. Chip takes it to 140 kw / 260 Nm. No problems after 5000 kms

For Stateside, that converts to 188 HP/192 lb-ft; very real world believable.

Hi Gandalf_The_Silver,

We have not publicized it much, but we have actually done quite a bit of work for German spec cars(including the "518s" and the "518r" boxes for the German '02 A4 1.8t). We have also developed software for the A3, S3, RS4 and the 95 A4 1.8t as well. Some of these programs have been selling and running for years. Although these cars have different hardware, their original factory programming is of the same Motronic family that we specialize in. We work with quite a few dealerships around the world that need us to support these cars in addition to our authorized install centers abroad(Trac Racing in Quebec, Rio Power in Mexico and Gunnerwerks in Singapore). We have also been contracted on occasion to do custom tuning for enthusiasts and small tuners in Europe, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Australia, and South America. Gchips in Australia, who we have been working with for some time now and our latest addition to the network of authorized dealers, is also a good contact for first hand information on how GIAC programs perform on Australian dynos. I have provided some contact info for them after my signature.

By the way, the headlight beam on your signature was nicely done, and the "Lord of the..." is pretty clever.

Thanks,

Andrew Ciraulo

How do you guys get your output specs? Engine dyno or chassis dyno with fuzzy math conversions? TIA
