I'm replacing my good old 96 2.8 A4.

I'd like to have a TT but when thinking about all the conveniences a 4 door can offer then I'm stuck on my decision.

I know the 3.0 offers 220hp while a TT is only 180. TT more fuel eficient but the 3.0 could be smooth or strong depending how you push it.

Dealer told me that the 3.0 can beat a TT, could that be true? or is it just to make a sale?

Not sure if you are looking for quattro or not, but the TT lineup is as follows...

TT180 FWD Auto (1.8T)
TT225 quattro Manual (1.8T engine as well)
TT250 quattro DSG (3.2)

Quite possibly the 3.0 could be faster FWD to FWD, but not by much. You can easily chip the TT to get more ponies as well. If you get the 225, it will easily smoke the 3.0.

So I'll guess I'll stick with the 3.0

I'm not looking for races.. but I'd like to have the option to kick in accelerations when needed.

I defenetly need quattro, I live in Canada and during winters quattro and winter tires is a must.

the 180 comes fwd and quattro

but to be honest... the car has been out forever... and is due for a change... in current form i find it to be a tad too small

also the A4 has Torsen quattro while the TT has the older Haldex Quattro

I also decided on a 350z over the TT ... but something like that is even less practical and can't work if you need AWD...

if its between a TT180 and A4 3.0... id take the A4... if you can get a TT225 i'd give it serious consideration though

A8/A8L is far nicer (especially inside) and far less unreliable than that awful current 7 Series.
