This is my first post here, but I am about to purchase a 2003 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro or a 2004 BMW 325i. They both have the same mileage and price and I can not decide. These cars are very similar but I am leaning towards the Audi. I was just wondering what your experiences are with either of these cars, or what kind of service I should expect after 72,000 miles. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Biggest thing you are looking at on the Audi is a timing belt change; $1750 or more at a dealer; Bimmer has a chain. Other than that, there is a short list of common issues on the Audi that I suspect has a similar list on the Bimmer. I would drive both and decide which one you like better. For both, just understand you are buying a car full of technology, and not an appliance, so regular attention will be required. Depending on where you live, quattro can be a huge advantage. For me, even though I live in Texas, quattro is what sells the Audi.
