Default or they think that not too many people would be driving cabrios in snowy winter...
as it is, quattro cars only account for about 20-25% of all Audis made, and majority of quattro cars are bought by US customers because that's what Audi here is known for.

Majority of people outside of US don't bother with this $1750 option.

Umm, the CVT 3.0 is as quick as the 3.0 6-speed...

I guess they're thinking the US mainly drives automatics.

Maybe so, but autos are BORING to drive. Not an option for me. Very disappointed.

Default AHA,,, but... the excuse of fun doesnt pan out when confronted with equal speed and economy ;o)
and if you really wanted to be non lazy and have some joy stick like fun, just slip it into 6 speed tiptronic mode.
