Hey Everyone, I am new to this site and was told to place my pricing question on this forum. Hoping you guys can help out.
I am looking to get a new A4 and was hoping I could find out what others are paying. I am looking to get a 1.8T quattro, manual, with the premium package. The sales guy that I talked to said that edmunds had the wrong prices and was not really willing to negotiate. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

For an '04, my guess would be you can expect to pay anywhere from about $1000-$1500 over invoice. Just my guess.
Oh yeah, and make sure you visit multiple dealers. The more visits you have, the more knowledge you'll have. Go in with you info and let your saleman know that you want a clean deal and you're willing to put a deposit down if its the right price.

Just remember that there are other dealers you can go to if your dealer's price is way off base.
Also, you didn't say if you were looking at an '03 or '04. You can get some killer deals on '03s right now if you find a dealer that has too many.
Finally, where are you located? Sometimes people on the forums know the right salesperson to talk to in order to get a good deal at certain dealers.

That salesguy is full of it. I've heard Audi salespeople say that Audi is high end and they dont deal on price, but guess what, they are still car salesman and they will deal if the offer is reasonable, especially when you get up to walk out the door. I bought mine at a dealer that sells mostly Porsche, plus Audi, Bentley, etc. so the "we're high-end, we don't deal" argument is BS.

I am actually located in CT, Danbury area. A 03 or 04 is fine as long as it is new. The dealer i went to only had 04. Thanks again.

Where you fall in that range depends on the region and the configuration you want. If you want the sedan with the options you mentioned, that's a common car, you should be able to find a dealer that will sell at $1500 or less above invoice without too much trouble.

... you *HAVE* to call around to different dealers. Tell them exactly what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. Its best to ask for just under Edmunds.com's TMV. When you call, ask for the sales manager (find out his name from their web site before you call). Alternatively, send him an email.
