Default A4 questions and comments including the Ads on TV

1...what do you recommend on grade of gasoline for 3.0.....i do not believe that you can change around...car is already set for one grade?
2..type of oil factory puts in..and type you recommend to use afterwards?
3...recommend tire pressure on 16 inch wheel?
4...is extended warranty worth it...and what should one offer to pay for it?
5...has anyone test driven the 3.0 non quattro with CVT...is this fast or not....speed for one quarter mile?
6....what would one expect on gasoline for this ?
I appreciate any replys with specific answers...not negative comments about go do your own research....I am asking questions hopefully of people willing to share and be nice.
PS....the pizza ad for the A4...was not inspiring....Nissan Altima has more better ads...but of course its not an Audi/

1...what do you recommend on grade of gasoline for 3.0.....i do not believe that you can change around...car is already set for one grade? 92-94 octane

2..type of oil factory puts in..and type you recommend to use afterwards? Factory uses 5w30 regular oil with additives for break-in. After 5k I'd switch to 0w30 or 5w30 synthetic.

3...recommend tire pressure on 16 inch wheel? Look on the side of the wheel.

4...is extended warranty worth it...and what should one offer to pay for it? NO!

5...has anyone test driven the 3.0 non quattro with CVT...is this fast or not....speed for one quarter mile? No idea. To get an idea of CVT try a Honda Civic with CVT. you will get a general idea of how it performs. Of course that's only if you cannot find an Audi with CVT to drive.

6....what would one expect on gasoline for this ? I don't understand what you mean here.

Answer to Question # 5: Yes it's fast... It's just as fast as the manual transmission...

Default A FEW COMMENTS

1) PREMIUM (IT IS NOT REQUIRED BUT RECOMMENDED) FOR THE SIZE OF THE INVESTMENT A FWE BUCKS A MONTH IS PROBABLY WORTH IT.

2) APPARENTLY MY 3.0 COMES FROM THE FACTORY WITH SYNTHETIC THAT CONTAINS SPECIFIC INDREDIENTS TO AID THE BREAK-IN PROCESS? AND I'M TOLD AL COVERED OIL CHANGES WIL BE SYNTHETIC.

4) I WAS QUOTED $3900 CDN FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT CAN BE BOUGHT UNTIL THE FACTORY WARRANTY IS 1 MONTH OR 2K AWAY FOR EXPIRATION. IT IS 400 MORE IF YOU WAIT BUT BUT $3900* PLUS A LITTLE INTEREST WILL MORE THAN COVER THE EXTRA 4 YEARS FROM NOW.

COMMENT: ALL ROUND BAD AUDI COMMERCIALS IN MY OPINION.

Default Please don't use all caps in your posts

Makes them very hard to read. Using all caps is analogous to shouting.

Thanks

There's a good article on the Car and Driver site on Octane ratings (e.g. if the car calls for 92 octane, what happens if you use 87).

As far as tire pressure is concerned, isn't the pressure noted on the tire the MAX pressure for that tire? On the inside of my gas filler door, the chart says to use 32 PSI for all tires with 3 people or less, and 42 psi for all tires with 5 people and a bunch of luggage (2000 A4QMS w/ 16" wheels). On the tires (Dunlop SP Sport 8000E), the maximum pressure called for is 46 psi.

As far as the TV commercials are concerned, I'm disappointed. They seem to be trying to sell the new A4 on LOOKS. IMHO, they should try to focus their efforts on whatever it takes to get people to DRIVE one.

Default Pizza ad is ironic because you don't actually know what's in the box....

You are supposed to think something shady is going on but the driver just gets a pizza. But wait, there could be anything in there.

Default Tested the 3.0 CVT in Hong Kong. It is terrific. Like in a F1....

when you press the Multitronic switch on the steering wheel.
