Default a4 sports package - opinions?

I didn't think I wanted a Sports Package for my new A4 1.8T quattro auto with tiptronic - but the dealers all around me offer nothing but on the 2002's. Anybody got an opinion on why?

Default I'd Get It

I'm really happy with the sport package. If you don't mind feeling the road a little more I'd get it. I also like the looks of it.

Default Harsher ride with 45% stiffer springs, lower .8 inch like rails on cloverleafs

but no doubt about it a bumppy ride. lucky the seats are a lot softer. Depends what u want. to me no sport or no stick = no fun

I'd recommend taking it on a long test-drive, possibly along the route you usually take back and forth from home to work. If possible, repeat the test in a non-Sport car, and then draw your conclusions. (IMHO, the Sport pkg. is a bit too firm for the type of driving I do on a day-to-day basis.) Good luck!

I have it on my 02 1.8T and it is great on the hwy and smooth roads, you will feel those bumps on the side street. For that little problem doesn't come close to the way the sp. pkg. feels . I am very happy with the sp. pk.

Default Got potholes?

Up here in Boston the sports package will run into far too many potholes to remain a comfortable ride.

I felt the sport ride was too harsh unless you like to really challenge the car

Thanks for the input - to those who took the time to share opinions. Think I'll forego the Bose and go for the one available WITHOUT the sport package - seems like the better tradeoff for this driver.
