Okay, not sure if this was mechanical or my premium mats riding up on the gas pedal (mats on top of original mats - bad idea I know)
Anyone on this board ever have the gas pedal stick when depressed fully to floor (gunned it going up a hill) freaked me out completely. Needed to throw car into neutral and pull over.

I haven't heard of that one happening yet! I'm guessing it was the floor mat, from what I've seen of the design of the pedal mechanics.
Keep in mind that the throttle in these cars is drive-by-wire, so the pedal simply has a spring and a (redundant) sensor inside to detect pedal position - the ECU does the rest. If I recall, there is nothing that could mechanically jam and keep the pedal down - they kept the design simple for once.
If you're concerned about it though or if it happens again, your dealer can easily take the pedal out and check it - just screws and plugs in - no linkage (obviously).

The accelerator jammed fully open in a residencial area, and as the speedo raced upwards, I had to reach down and yank the pedal up.
This jam happened where the cable operates a pulley at the carbs...but that wouldn't happen on a new by-wire A4.
