Default Added S4 Auto-dimming Mirrors to my 1.8T

So when i was shopping for my car, I wanted an A4 with auto-dimming and power outside mirrors, but then I found out that its only available on the 3.0 and the S4... so I picked up some S4 autodimming/power mirrors. It was a bit of a pain to do the install, you have to run 2 wires to each side mirror to the interior auto-dimming mirror (yellow wire on my mirror) I ran 3 wires because I plan to eventually hook up the power folding feature. I think the wires for the autodim feature might already be ran to the doors from the factory, but just not all the way to the mirror, I didnt want to mess with it so I just ran my own. Sorry for the crappy pics, I was rushed.

Wow. Looks like a lot of work. Get some euro mirror glass while you're at it.

Thought my 1.8T came with an auto-dimming rear view - turns out it was just tinted rear glass

Default Power folding ...

I installed the S4 auto dimming and power folding mirrors into my 02 Avant. Unlike you, I didn't have an interior auto-dimming mirror. I was more interested in the power folding function. I replaced the mirror adjustment switch with one that would switch on the power folding. Unfortunately, I couldn't get things to work. I'm reasonably certain that all the wiring is correct. I was told (by my mechanic, who, in turn, was told by an Audi mechanic) that the central convenience unit needs to be re-programmed to enable the function. To date, I still haven't found a solution. If you can make yours work, be sure to post as myself and others on here will be very grateful.
