Adding oil in 1.8T - first 10k - check!

My 1.8t stopped consuming oil around 6K. I now think 7500 miles is good for changing it from factory, not 10K (although now they are doing 5K in '04). Depends on how it breaks in though as well. Good to change filter too, if letting oil stay in longer.
<b>Always check oil level!!</b>. At least once a week. This 1.8t only hold 4qts (as compared to VW 1.8t w 5qts). Turbos live and die on oil. When the oil warning goes off, that means it's about 1qt low. You should not allow it to get low. You need to break that rule. You should always check under the hood for anything suspicious, fluids mainly; levels, leaks, cracked hoses, connections,... Just because it is new, does not mean nothing can or will go wrong.
