Default adjusting toe constant S without tool

So I changed my tie rod ends and now cars wheel doesn't really straighten out when turning slow. The wheel will continue to keep turning in same direction. The distance on threads is same as old but I forgot to mark the height of how far tie rod goes into arm. Audi manual says hook up special tool to find proper toe constant angle and then tighten top 13mm bolt. Does anyone have a idea of how to do this. I can do move it over n over I guess until I find right spot. I threw away old ends so I have no reference. Thanks justin

I assume the "tool" you are referring to measures the toe angle. If so, you really have no choice other than to buy the too and eductate yourself on the use of the tool OR take to a reputable alignment shop. I would not recommend driving the car in its current set becuase your car will handle odd and your tires will wear very prematurely.
