Hey all. For some damn reason the 1996 A4 I recently purchased did not come factory equipped with keyless entry. I have talked to a few aftermarket installers and I have been told that they can be put in, but they don't think it can be wired in such a way that it will arm and disarm the factory ATS when using it. Is this true? I would really like to have keyless entry, but it does somewhat defeat the purpose if it will not be capable of arming the factory alarm. I also was contemplating a remote start with keyless entry. Has anyone attempted this or know someone who has. Any advice on what brand to look for? I could really use some information so I know what I am up against. Thanks.

That is what I figured. I just want keyless entry that would arm my audi alarm system. Dirty bastards. Thanks pal.

it is really easy to do. i do it all the time. works on all models of a4

I thought keyless entry is standard equipment. You may have the recut "valet" key. Often when the car is a repo or drug/IRS seize, the original keys are missing. if you have proof of ownership, i'm sure Audi will let you order new key fobs.
