Again that Oil change question.....5K or 10k miles? Here's what I was told by the service dept.....

My dealer scheduled a 5K (8Km)oil change when I took the car in just like the book says

That was going to be my question, too. Even synthetic oil has a time period you shouldn't exceed.

Default Why can't we put CLEAN break-in oil in the car at 5000 miles.
What is this magic stuff?

Default It's 10K miles or 1 year from last oil change whichever comes first as stated above!
If you drive 9K miles in 1 year from last oil change then you change your oil at the 1 year interval mark. If you drive your car 10K miles in 3 months then you change your oil at the 10K intervals. Hope this clarifies it!

Default Our corporate euro-marketing guy sent them to me from Germany....
I hope they fit as my A4 doesn't arrive until mid April. Sachs North America was carrying them but their web site seems dead!
