Default all season tires vs. winter tires??

I just moved to the boston area... anyone know if i can get by with just all season tires?? I'm a cheap student..haha

Default Yes, that's how most of the US gets through winters

Most people do not switch over to dedicated winter tires. You'll be fine

Default you can do it...

but... if Boston gets a lot of snow, it can make a huge difference to have dedicated snows. I had Pirelli snows for all 6 years I lived in Boston. Now that I'm mainly in NJ, I'm running all seasons year round.

tires make a huge difference, and your relative amount of confidence in winter conditions is another huge factor...

you should be able to make a decision after the first big snow.

I'm much more worried about other drivers in the snow....all seasons are fine.

Living in Ottawa it is a big help to have winters on (going on this weekend). Not sure how much snow you would typically get but good condition all seasons would get you buy just be careful
