BUT Audi states that regardless of where you purchase aftermarket parts they will not honor warranty issues. So I figure save the $$ and get em anywhere but from Audi directly.

the suspension warranty?
Isn't that a little wierd? And when I say wierd, I mean stupid.

I was running Eibachs on my 2000 A4 and he told me that even though they are exactly the same spring Audi will not honor any warranty with them installed. I suggested that someone should just buy them from Audi then and he said that it wouldnt make any difference. Someone was discussing a similiar issue the other day in the 1st gen forum with regards to the "Audi Sport" exhaust (Remus) that you can get through Audi. If you bought it from Audi you would still be susceptible to warranty hassles.

I looked over Eibach's web site and Eibach says you do not NEED new shocks and that springs do not invalidate the warranty.
They do suggest new shocks though, but it kind of reads as a sales pitch. I think it depends on what you plan to do and how soft of a ride you want. If you buy shocks that are to firm your ride quality can suck and you may be wishing you never spent the money.
