Default Another reason never to buy a landrover...

My wife's boss owns one. This weekend they were out on a drive an they stopped for gas. They both got out of the car, and when the dog stepped up on the door he accidentally stepped on the lock, locking himself in the car. So they call a locksmith and they don't have anything to unlock the car, they said they have to call landrover. So they call landrover and landrover says they'll send someone out but won't say when. (btw, keys are in the ignition) So they explain to them that the dog is in the car but they say no kids when asked. Here's the rub.....one, the windows are all up....two.....you can't bust a landrover window, it's got metal running through it or something....three, they are airtight cause they are meant to float so the dog will slowly run out of air. So anyway, long story short, about an hour later, the dog is now lying on the back seat, both hot, and running out of air. He is shallow panting and if you knew this dog, this would probably be the first time you ever saw him laying down. He's a very hyper poodle mix. Finally about 1.5 hours since the first call (they called back many times and started telling them they had kids in the car) they finally showed up. Dog ok, just a little tired out and very hot. If it was summer he would have been dead. Another 30 minutes, probably dead anyway. This is just the worst of many instances of extremely poor service from landrover and instances where only landrover could help them with their problem and no one else would touch the car.

Default can't you take some kind of pelet thing from a spark plug and throw at a window to shatter it?

I heard this a while back but never tried it.

Default NEVER leave keys in ignition.

also, cant bust windows? did they even try? by law glass has to be breakable and designed to break into small pieces...doesnt it? or maybe they had that security glass, front and back laminated too.

A good ol' Sawzall would solve that problem in no time.
